Much of Brandon was built between the 1970s and 1990s, in areas such as Bloomingdale, Providence Lakes and Brandon Lakes, with older homes around historic Limona. Kitchens from that era are often closed off, with soffits above the cabinets, a fluorescent light box in the ceiling and tile or laminate counters.
