Usually, and the footprint of a corner garden tub often fits a generous shower with a bench. Ruskin homes are built on concrete slabs, so moving the drain means cutting and patching the slab. Keeping the new drain close to the old one is the simplest and least expensive route.

If water ever comes in, those surfaces can usually be cleaned and dried instead of torn out.
